Muriel Laurent lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland. She began her career in contemporary jewellery in Paris. In 2003 she graduated from the AFEDAP with a ‘Certificat d’Aptitudes Professionnelles’.

In order to perfect her technique, she applied her expertise to various companies – to jewellery workshops and in fine jewellery. Over four years she was subcontracted to produce pieces for brands such as Petra Dömling, Castany, Vangelder, Capet, BRY, Harry Winston, Dior, Cartier and Van Cleef and Arpels.

In 2006 Muriel decided to leave Paris for the south of France in order to pursue an
internship with François Perena. The encounter with this artist marked a turning point in the life of the designer. The same year Muriel resumed her studies at HEAD (Haute Ecole d’Art et Design Geneva) in order to gain university training and to carry out her objective, to become a designer in her own right.

In 2010 she graduated from the Jewellery Design pathway. Awarded a place in the Design Incubator, she is in the process of developing her own brand.

March 2012: Participation in the “Blickfang” show, Basel.

Décember 2011: Organization of and participation in BOA, a pop-up store offering jewellery, objects and accessories at The Square, Geneva.

November 2011: Participation in B-Side, a contemporary jewellery festival held in Amsterdam.

October 2011: Participation in “Edelweiss Showroom”, Geneva.

September 2011: Exhibitor in “Rathiana’s –
ars similis casus”. Musée Rath, Geneva.

June 2011: Awarded by the Geneva “Bourse du Fond d’Art Contemporain 2011”.

Mai 2011: Exhibitor at Gallery Aad “Atelier d’Art
et Design” Geneva

March 2011: Exhibitor at the event “Dentelles et Perçeuses” Renens.

Participation in an exhibition of graduate work at the Simone Geissler Gallery, Nuremberg.

February 2011: Awarded a place in the AHEAD-Design Incubator 2011, Geneva.

September 2010: Exhibitor at “Edelweiss Showroom” during the “Design Days”, Geneva.

Exhibition of photographs by Patricia Canino, a series of images called “Portez Vous Bien”, at the Maison de Culture A. Malraux, Le Bourget.

August 2010: Participation in the “Graduate Show 2010” an international collective at Gallery Marzee, Nijmegen.

September 2008:Selected to show at the HEAD Geneva fashion show, October 2010, with a collection of bags made from recycled plastics.

Juillet 2008: Exhibition of a “Contact” necklace in the annex of the Vise Versa Gallery during the “De Main à Main” event at the Mudac, Lausanne.
